Well, as I sit here watching the slowest OS upgrade ive ever experienced upload onto my 2008 17″ MacBook Pro I can’t help but feel reluctant and scared at what lies ahead for me. Lol. I held onto my Macericks as long as I possibly could, but after obtaining the 2016 Microsoft Office Suite (With Lync) thru the fantastic Government Home / Business offer they send out yearly for only $9.95, I had no choice but to update my OS so it would complete its upgrade.
AFter reading so many horror stories from folks within these walls I hope I don’t face many of the fears and technical matters you all have. As I type this the laptop is now stopped in a mode that has my screen entirely blacked out after it restarted itself numerous times? Ughhh. If you know who I am you’ll understand that certain things make my PTSD flare up on me when stressed or placed in matters beyond my control or level of technical experience. I can only hope things go smooth and would truly appreciate any OS type advice from the members on this change and perhaps some inside tricks, tips, or settings that will make this upgrade smooth and totally operational once it’s up n running? – This black screen staring at me right now looks very angry and dooming!
PLease tell me what’s in store for this Marine and his MBP driven by “El Capitan” at the helm!
